Show Your Heart on Valentines

Love was in the air across the UK on Valentine’s Day 2022, as communities showed their heart for refugees! It was truly heartwarming to see all the creative orange hearts and Valentine’s Day cards with messages to MPs. Messages ranged from funny and sweet to sincere and heartfelt. Over 90 MPs of all political persuasions received personal cards from constituents concerned about the inhumane Nationality and Borders Bill. MPs were asked to show their support for changes to the Nationality and Borders Bill to help people fleeing war and persecution.

There were dancing protests, songs of love, artworks of hearts, heart-shaped pizzas, hearts on beaches and much, much more. Twitter was awash with orange hearts and on the morning of Monday 14 Feburary, the hashtag #TogetherWithRefugees was trending! Some MPs responded on Twitter, with messages of support. Other MPs met with constituents or agreed to meet in the future.

A huge thank you to everyone involved! Take a look at some of the beautiful creations and events below.
